Three Rules of Shroud

This is a world where "the dead make the rules and the living follow the rules." Each shroud is the last words "embroidered" by the deceased with his last breath before he died - these last words are not words, but rules. The more unwilling and obsessed the deceased was during his lifetime, the more powerful and weird the rules on the shroud became. The apprentices and masters of the shroud shop are the only ones who can "understand" the rules of the shroud. They don't see with their eyes, but with their "needle sense" - a special ability passed down from generation to generation in shroud shops. People with strong acupuncture sense can perceive the "regular" lines, directions, and nodes on the shroud.
