Great Tang: Saving Lives, and Li Lizhi Falls for Me

After transmigrating to the Tang dynasty, Shen Chang'an is bound to a Merit System. Treating the sick and saving lives earns him merit, which he can exchange for cultivation techniques, elixirs, and even immortality. So he sets up a free clinic outside Chang'an, specializing in all kinds of difficult and unusual ailments. Patients can pay whatever they like: a single coin is fine, and a thank-you will do just as well. The people are moved to tears with gratitude, hailing him as "a divine physician sent from heaven." Shen Chang'an smiles faintly. "Sorry, but I really am a cultivator." What he never expected was that his first "big client" would be Li Lizhi, the eldest legitimate princess, visiting incognito outside the palace. What he expected even less was that after her treatment, the princess wouldn't leave. "Doctor Shen, my mother's health is poor. Would you take a look at her?" "Doctor Shen, my Crown Prince brother has been suffering from a leg ailment. Could you treat him?" "Doctor Shen, my little sister Xiaoxizi misses you. Could you come to the palace and play with her today?" Shen Chang'an: "..." He only wanted to cultivate in peace. How did he end up as the Tang imperial family's personal physician and babysitter? Even more outrageous, Princess Changle, who was supposed to marry Changsun Chong, keeps showing up at his little courtyard, and the look in her eyes grows more and more unusual. At first, Li Shimin didn't believe in the young man's medical skills. Then Shen Chang'an saved Empress Changsun with a single pill, cured Li Chengqian with three doses of medicine, and nursed the frail, sickly Xiaoxizi into a chubby, rosy-cheeked child. At last, the emperor could no longer sit still. "Shen Chang'an, what reward do you want?" Shen Chang'an glanced at the blushing Princess Changle beside him, then at Xiaoxizi hugging his leg and calling him "Brother Shen," and smiled faintly. "Your Majesty, I would like to... ask for someone's hand in marriage." (The synopsis doesn't do it justice. Read the story!)
