From design blueprints to steel keels, from roaring workshops to silent docks, it has witnessed the final glory and ambition of a superpower, and also experienced the displacement and hardship after the collapse of the building. This book is based on the true historical context of the Varyag aircraft carrier, based on public historical materials and historical background, and uses reasonable literary imagination to restore the bumpy fate of this legendary aircraft carrier from construction, shelving to wandering on Ukrainian soil. Some of the characters, scenes and details in the book are derived from artistic creation, intended to fill the gaps left unexplored by historical data, and outline the struggle, helplessness and tragedy of the times of a battleship, a group of craftsmen and a country caught in the cracks of history. It was born at the wrong time, but it was destined to be extraordinary; its body was like an abandoned child, and it ended up in the East.
