City of Engraving

My engraving is called "tracing the origin", and the price is to bear the emotions of the things I touch. I thought it was a gift until I found out my parents used it to choose a silent death. I met the forged abandoned son, the bloody boxer, the healing healer, the mute spy - we all have a past that we want to forget, but we have to remember each other. When the final battle came, the monument keeper asked me to sacrifice, the etching asked me to break, and I chose to become the eternal question: not the answer, but the posture of asking everyone forever.
