I'm Definitely Not the World's Greatest Thief

This is a vast martial world that brings together characters and martial arts from the various worlds of Huang Yi, Jin Yong, and Gu Long. Set in the early Northern and Southern Dynasties, it is a world where the imperial court, aristocratic clans, frontier garrisons, prefectures, fortified estates, refugees, Buddhist temples, Daoist monasteries, and martial sects all coexist. My name is Shen Qingci. I’m twenty years old. My family was poor when I was a child, and my parents were hounded to death by hunger as corrupt officials and cruel underlings bled us dry. From that moment on, I stopped believing that justice would simply arrive on its own. I stole martial arts techniques from across the land and trained by pushing myself almost to the point of destruction. Even when I was at risk of qi deviation, I never stopped. I was lucky enough to survive, and that is how I came to be here today. I know the Six Meridians Divine Sword, One Yang Finger, and the Lightness Skill of Lingbo Steps. I’m also skilled at gliding over water, running over grass, and concealing my presence and breath. My inner power runs deep, but I never reveal my true abilities to outsiders without good reason. Deep in the forest lies a cave I carved out myself, a base stocked with all manner of supplies and a hidden storage room. It is a fallback route I will always keep in reserve amid these troubled times. I don’t seek to rule the land or establish a sect. I refuse to be anyone’s pawn, and I won’t be dragged into any central plot against my will. I can retreat to the mountains, or enter the city and see the world for myself. I can meet aloof swordswomen, proud female physicians, and quiet young women from poor families. I might also encounter the most famous legendary figures in an inn on a rainy night, along a desolate official road, or before or after a battle that shakes the entire martial world. The tides of the world will rise and fall on their own. I will live freely, in my own way, between this martial world and the course of history.
