Walking in the World

This book takes the Cheng family as the core narrative line and Xianling Village as the main narrative space. It mainly tells the character stories and social changes of an ordinary family in Yongle County in southern China for about sixty years from the 1930s to the 1990s. Through many small family chores, it reflects the changes in people's lives and psychological evolution in different eras. The rise and fall of the Cheng family, the honors and disgrace, and the inheritance from generation to generation - especially the stories of Cheng Yongyi, the two brothers Cheng Qinsheng and Cheng Qindi, and the three generations of Cheng Xiuli, Cheng Xingyong and Cheng Xingkai - allow readers to immersively experience the clan life, folk customs and various rural conditions in rural China, and gain a glimpse of the profound impact of the tide of the times on all aspects of ordinary people's lives as the passage of time and social changes occur. I believe that every reader will find themselves and the familiar figures around them, and feel the confusion and struggle of walking in the world, life and death, as well as the infinite magnificence and hope of life. The author also hopes to use this book to convey a belief to those who encounter difficulties and setbacks in work, life, study and relationships, telling them: Even if there are many sufferings in the world, as long as we stick to the right path and walk bravely, spring will eventually bloom and the sun will grow; even if the suffering is still there, our confidence has become stronger after all kinds of experiences.
