The Celestial Master Returns: Reborn, I Became My Own Backer

Zhang Ji, a Celestial Master of the Mystic Sect, once defied fate to help his lover rise to the top, only to be betrayed, encased in concrete, and sunk into the sea. When he opens his eyes again, he has been reborn ten years in the past. But he discovers that another, younger version of himself exists in this timeline. The boy has yet to awaken his Mystic Sect talents. He is working hard to support his studies and suffering constant bullying, while the tragedy of the future is already taking shape. This time, Zhang Ji, going by the alias Yuan Jing after his rebirth, will never let the tragedy happen again. Drawing on his experience, he guides his younger self to awaken his talents and practice Taoist arts. One protects himself, while the two together become a force to be reckoned with. They stand shoulder to shoulder, strong in their own right and perfectly in sync, relying on each other and fighting as the closest of allies. Together, they solve one bizarre supernatural case after another: a wealthy family cursed by dark magic, an abandoned old mansion haunted by vengeful spirits, sinister Taoists who alter people’s fates, and eerie ornaments that drain their owners’ luck... Every case conceals a mystery, while gradually revealing the deeper conspiracy behind the betrayal years ago. Their old enemy closes in at every turn, intent on killing them once again. With two Zhang Jis fighting side by side and their Taoist arts combined, they use the Mystic Sect’s power to vanquish evil and dispel curses, and strike back with thunderous force. They swear to make every traitor and perpetrator pay in blood, and undo every regret of the past!
