Laoshan Mural Painting

During the Northern Song Dynasty, Shen Molin, a failed scholar, was trapped in Laoshan Mountain. He met Bai Yunzi, who had been practicing Taoism for 60 years, and unexpectedly discovered that the portraits of the Eight Immortals in the Taoist temple were actually real immortals. He originally wanted to seek immortality, but was awakened by Bai Yunzi on the top of the mountain: the real practice is not in the mountains, but in the world. Bai Yunzi gave up the immortal class twenty years later and chose to stay at the foot of the mountain to save people; Shen Molin went down the mountain to obtain fame and practice "human cultivation" throughout his life.
