At the end of the Yong Dynasty, the emperor was cowardly and his ministers were treacherous and violent. Zhao Xin, a war king with a different surname, raised an army in the name of "Fengtian Jingnan" and led the elite troops from the north to the south to attack the capital. The dynasty was changed and the country was named Dajing. The reign name was permanently discontinued, but it also laid a fatal foreshadowing for the clan power conspiracy.
In his later years, Taizu Zhao Xin suffered a series of serious losses: his legitimate prince Zhao Xingpei died of smallpox after returning from a private visit in disguise, and Zhao Ji, the grandson of the original heir apparent, died mysteriously. The civil and military officials of the Manchu Dynasty requested to establish an adult prince, but Taizu insisted on skipping the six vassal princes who held military power and established the prince's second son, Zhao Kuangrong, who was only 16 years old, as the emperor's grandson. After the death of Taizu, the young emperor Zhao Kuangrong ascended the throne and replaced Yuan Jinghe. He rushed to cut down the feudal vassals and intensified clan conflicts. The six feudal princes formed a blood alliance and launched an army in the name of "purifying the emperor and punishing the traitors". This was known as the "Jinghe Rebellion" in history.
After four years of fierce fighting, when the troops came to the capital, the fourth prince, Ting Wang Zhao Bing, turned against him and colluded with the former military generals to seize power and ascend to the throne to change the Yuan Dynasty. The Zhengtong Emperor was well versed in the art of rebellion and concentrated power to suppress the clan with an iron fist. His disciples followed suit and raised armies to fight and were repeatedly defeated. The imperial power was smoothly passed to the crown prince Zhao Qirong.
The new emperor Shunkang died suddenly only three months after he ascended the throne, leaving an instant vacuum in imperial power. The three kings, the Northern King, the Southern King, and the Middle King, rose up to fight for the throne. The young prince Zhao Ji came to the court in the midst of chaos. She divided powerful enemies and quelled civil strife with the help of vertical and horizontal alliances. She ascended the throne and changed the Yuan Dynasty to Shunzhi, ending the decades of imperial war in the Dajing Dynasty and ushering in a sixty-year period of peace and prosperity.
