Twenty-eight-year-old Raymond rode an extremely old Norton Commando all the way south from the United States to Peru to find his father who disappeared when he was twelve years old. Travel through the Sonoran Desert, through the clouds and mists of Costa Rica, and over the passes of the Andes Mountains. He met a young rider named "Rain Man" on the road, and the two walked together. Then they find a blue door. Beyond the door is another world. The sky is green, the sun is purple, and human-shaped stones are scattered all over the mountains and plains. This place is called Lata. Some people have been waiting here all their lives, and some people have been here until they disappeared. Raymond meets a woman whose abdomen never heals, a philosophy professor who is petrified, and a child who draws motorcycles on the salt marsh. He touched those stone figures and saw their frozen lives, as well as the traces left by his father. He walked on, to the center of Lata. He thought he was looking for his father. He thought he would find the answer by finding his father. But he didn't know that the door was not in front of him. He didn't know that the person who was traveling with him had been answering a question for him that he didn't dare to ask. This is a novel about search and escape, division and wholeness, memory and forgetting. It's about a man who spent ten years riding, pushing open another world, and finally found what he was looking for, the place he started from all along.
