World Nuclear Ember

This is just a short story. Extras will be updated in different chapters later. The protagonist Lin Jin is a person who regards his self-created "Boundary Core Theory" as the truth of life: he firmly believes that he is the core of freedom that cannot be defined, simulated, or manipulated. The world exists because of his perception. Pain is the real boundary, redundancy is freedom, and the right to self-destruct is the highest reality. He proves himself through all his actions: I am not a brain in a vat, I am not a creature, I am the master. But starting from a forever misplaced button, irreparable bugs appeared in the world: repeated words, circular paths, fixed pain, locked choices, and a city that cannot be escaped. The more he resists, the more it proves that resistance itself is the plot. Finally he found the manuscript that wrote his destiny and discovered: His thoughts, his theories, his pain, his despair, and his ending were all written. He couldn't even commit suicide, and even going crazy was restricted. In the end, his self is completely extinguished, and he becomes a person in the book who is eternally still, eternally desperate, and can never break free on the page.
