But at a certain moment that cannot be accurately defined—perhaps an explosion of technology, perhaps a qualitative change in collective consciousness, perhaps simply because "it" was already there—a crack appeared in this membrane. On the other side of the rift is a "world" that cannot be named or fully understood. It is a "place" but also a state, a new possibility. It has no good or evil, no purpose, only one instinct: infiltration. Like water seeping into a crack, light seeping into darkness, this "world" is slowly and irreversibly seeping into our world.
