Old Dream of Floating City

This book is set in Cangcheng, a coastal commercial city from the 1990s to the early 21st century. It tells the story of Lin Yanzhi, a young man from a lower class background. Under the influence of the times, he makes a living from the street, step by step into the vortex of the floating city where commerce and power intersect, and experiences the fragmentation and reconstruction of family, love, and friendship. In the pull of desire and conscience, he finally finds his way back. The whole book takes family grudges, business games, and changes of the times as the context, depicting a group of living beings who struggle, persevere, lose, and redeem themselves in the development of the city, and writes a past event in the floating city that is marked by the times.
