In this world, "gods and ghosts" are constructed through narrative, and the boundaries between life and death are defined by "bells." Zombies are not the traditional walking dead, but living memory containers carrying the trauma of the "real world". They desire "long life" more than the living. -**Core Conflict**: The protagonist Changsheng (the son of the original veterinarian of Wandiquan Village) was transformed into a zombie by an ancient curse in 1923. He found that although he had no heartbeat, he retained consciousness and pain. In order to conceal his identity and find an antidote, he chose to join the army.
