Book of Reality

"The Book of Reality" is a "compiled pathology archive" that blends philosophical science fiction and existential thriller. The story begins when archaeological intern Lin Mu discovers notes left by the anonymous "compiler" Shao Ji in an old building to be demolished, recording his absurd experiments in systematically collecting and "compiling" daily anomalies. When Lin Mu began to verify the contents of his notes, those recorded "echoes"—from flashing light bulbs to inexplicably floating numbers on the wall—started to reappear around him. With in-depth investigation, he discovered that he had inherited not only a notebook, but a dangerous "compilation grammar" that interacted with the potential "reality-information field", as well as an abnormal historical chain spanning a hundred years: from the "dissent" warning of the water avoiders in 1906, to the failure of the Japanese military drilling, to countless vague folk tales in the contemporary era. When the ancient underground "compilation system" is touched, the century-old mural in Room 302 begins to be rewritten spontaneously. Lin Mu must face the multiple pressures of public scrutiny, system warnings, and the collapse of his own cognition to crack the grammatical suspense of "compilation" and face the truth of the dormant "reflection" buried deep under the city. This is a sober adventure on the boundary between personal permafrost and the chaos of reality, an extreme thinking about defects, connections and meaning compilation.
