Codename: Isle

Set in “island” enclaves and international cities such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Wuhan. The protagonist leads multiple lives, navigating between Japanese military intelligence, Wang Jingwei's collaborationist 76th Division, the Kuomintang's military intelligence agency, the Chinese Communist Party, and Soviet intelligence. This is not simply about passing along assignments, but about losing one's sense of identity, the torment of divided loyalties, and holding on to one's convictions in utter solitude.
