You Promised a Fair Game, So How Did You Lose Enough to Become the Richest Man?

“I’ve been dominating the gaming world for years, and they call me the Leopard Head, Zero-Spend. Today, I’m here to see what this game is all about.” “Three Kingdoms Kill? A card game? Come on, how much money could a card game possibly cost?” “What do you mean the beginner tutorial teaches you how to top up? Zilong, what are you doing?” “Hi, everyone. I’m Zero-Spend, and I start spending right on the dot at midnight.” The big streamer Sima Yi stared fixedly at the screen, hoping he’d get a good drop early. “Honor of Kings? A tower-defense game? All the heroes are free? Has Old Su finally grown a conscience?” “What do you mean the heroes are free, but the skins cost money?” “Holy crap! They sold a hundred million six-yuan skins?” Faced with those gorgeous six-yuan skins, even the free-to-play crowd couldn’t resist making their first purchase. Three Kingdoms Kill... Honor of Kings... LifeAfter... Game for Peace... As one game after another was released, players were horrified to discover that it wasn’t just their wallets that couldn’t take it. Their livers were starting to ache, too. Player: “Didn’t you say you were making games with a conscience?” Su Bai: “That’s why I’ve lost so much money I’ve become the richest man in the country!”
