Douluo Dalu: Guarding a Lonely City, Invincible in the Mortal World

After the battle of the gods, Spirit Hall collapsed, and Fallen Soul Masters resurfaced to wreak havoc across the land. Zhenhun City lies beside Slaughter City. In the past, Spirit Hall established it to oversee and suppress Slaughter City. In 2656 of the Douluo Calendar, the main force of the Angel Legion left Zhenhun City, leaving behind only a small squad. After that, they were never heard from again. In his first life, he wandered alone and stumbled into good fortune. In his second, he was a garrison soldier in Qiuci, a city in the Tang Empire's Western Regions. He fought the barbarians alone for sixty years, finally dying when his strength gave out. In his third life, after transmigrating to Douluo Dalu, Gu Yuan was adopted by Gu Shisan, the captain of a small Angel Legion squad in Zhenhun City. He had hoped to live out his days in peace, but fate had other plans: The Heaven Dou Empire sought to exterminate them from the front, while Fallen Soul Masters wreaked havoc behind them. Gu Shisan was wounded by a Fallen Soul Master while putting one down. On his deathbed, he gave Gu Yuan two instructions: protect the friends and elders in the city, and defend Zhenhun City so the glory of Spirit Hall would not fade. After Gu Shisan died and Heaven Dou's forces attacked, Gu Yuan, the last member of the Angel Legion, chose to face the enemy alone. Enemies filled his vision, while behind him stood a lonely city alive with the lights of countless homes. He had nowhere left to retreat.
