He Damao, (real name: He Jiangang) male, 41 years old, university degree, native of northern Shaanxi, external writer of Army University, loves writing. He is a man who came out of a cave in the Loess Plateau, and he carries with him the unique heaviness and simplicity of northern Shaanxi people. In his early years, he cherished literary dreams and wrote under the kerosene lamp, hoping to support a family with pen and ink. However, his marriage broke up while struggling with daily necessities, and he was in debt due to his father's medical treatment. Finally, full of grievances and unwillingness, he left northern Shaanxi and came to Xi'an to take root. At Army University, his status as an external writer sounded respectable, but in fact he lived a tight but stable life - he received a monthly salary that was enough to survive, buy manuscript paper, and send living expenses to his mother in his hometown. He guarded the small studio in the old building of the family courtyard and wrote manuscripts related to military school textbooks. He also hid local novels full of the joys and sorrows of the Loess Plateau deep in the drawer, fearing that the scars in the words would be seen through. His life is surrounded by the fireworks of Shuncheng Lane in Xi'an. He often goes to the alley's steamed bun restaurant to eat a bowl of mutton steamed buns, listens to the quarrels of the parents at the next table, and watches the entanglement of couples in the world. These trivial fireworks have become the material for his perception of life. He was scarred all over by the departure of his ex-wife, and he was also confused because his manuscripts were ignored. It was not until Lin Wan, the editor of Northwest Literature, came to visit that he dared to let the words hiding the soul of northern Shaanxi come to light.
