Forging the Years

"Forging Years" is set in Liaoyang Steel City, and the narrative unfolds around the three threads of Qiaoniang's workshop, steel factory, and research center. Chen Guilan led Qiao Niang Workshop to adhere to traditional skills and start from handicraft workshops, and collaborated with intangible cultural heritage inheritors across the country to create a cultural and creative brand of "One Furnace of Steel, Hundred Cities of Craftsmanship", which won national certification; Li Jianguo's team used industrial ingenuity to help Africa establish transoceanic workshops, promote the upgrading of local handicrafts to the world, and build a bridge of friendship between China and Africa; the research center led by Sun Yulan integrated the spirit of ingenuity into the campus, developed school-based courses to cover thousands of students, and cultivated new inheritance seedlings. The book ends with the "Craftsmanship Inheritance Ceremony", which connects the warm stories of regional collaboration, transnational exchanges, and intergenerational transmission, interprets the core of craftsmanship without borders and adhering to the original intention, and writes a splendid chapter of the rebirth of traditional skills and the connection of interpersonal warmth.
