The Ashes of the Lonely City

The story witnesses the turmoil and tragedy of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty from the perspective of Lin Hansheng, one of Jiang Yu's subordinates. Through Lin Hansheng's journey from a loyal and brave subordinate to a disillusioned man, and finally a remnant of history, it explores the fierce conflict between personal loyalty, survival instinct and human conscience in the extreme environment of dynastic changes and ethical collapse, and shows the fate of individuals crushed behind the grand historical narrative.
