The male protagonist suffered short-term memory loss due to a car accident, but was immune to the rules implanted as a result - he could never remember the rules and would never break them. What's even weirder is that he discovered that behind all the rules, there was a "conceptual war" that lasted for thousands of years, and that his own amnesia was actually the ultimate firewall designed by ancient civilizations.
