Starting as an Imperial Brocade Guard: Better to Ask Me Than the Gods

The seventeenth year of Chongzhao.

Beyond the passes, the barbarians are busy worshipping an evil god and preparing to drive their herds south.

At court, the Grandmasters of Dayan are still trying to figure out how to trade barbs.

In this age, martial arts are playthings for the powerful, and the gods and Buddhas are nothing but clay ornaments.

Fortunately, Shen Yu transmigrates here with Heaven Official's Blessing, which can earn him blessings from the immortals and gods.

He absorbs the power of the capital's earth spirits and receives the blessing [Command of the Five Thunders].

His martial arts cultivation reaches the True Martial Realm, earning him [Reverse Wind and Turn Back Fire].

He slays the evil dragon of the Huai River, the cause of a devastating flood, and receives [Stir the Rivers and Churn the Seas].

Years later.

The iron cavalry beyond the passes bears down on the border. The so-called noble houses either bow down at once or seek immortals and worship gods.

Shen Yu stands before the pass with a saber in hand.

"Why pray to the gods? Better to pray to me!"
