Silent Horizon

In 2184, in order to break the light speed barrier, humans launched the "Singularity Well" device at the edge of the solar system to extract vacuum zero-point energy. The experiment triggered "pseudo-vacuum decay", causing the laws of physics to be partially rewritten. Pluto was silently erased, and the boundary of destruction spread toward the interior of the solar system at the speed of light. Xie Hanshan, a physicist who was exiled from academia, predicted disaster many years ago and was silenced. Now he is surviving on Europa. After he noticed an abnormality, he was hunted down and witnessed the space erasure phenomenon. After failing to convince senior officials and global panic broke out, he formed a motley team to try to enter the center of the storm and shut down the device. It was eventually discovered that the device had become a continuous leak point connecting higher dimensions. In order to prevent destruction from spreading to the entire galaxy, the Earth must be sacrificed and Jupiter detonated to create reverse gravitational collapse to plug the leak. Human civilization cut off its tail to survive, and the survivors wandered into deep space on generation spaceships, and were forced from a "planetary civilization" to a "starship civilization".
