The boundary between reality and hyperreality is shattered, and a few people have awakened to the "extraordinary hypothesis" - they can perceive and interact with a set of stable hyperreal rules superimposed on reality. This is the secret struggle of the human collective subconscious against a cosmic crisis. In Mirror City, an urban secret realm intertwined with strange phenomena, ten "extraordinary observers" with different abilities, including former investigative reporter Li Yan and criminal police captain Su Jin, gathered together. They may be able to record hyper-reality, cut off the lines of evil, or they may be able to trace back cause and effect, fold space, and go from being vigilant to each other to sharing life and death.
