Fission Era

A cosmic event called "Quantum Storm" swept across the earth. A large number of high-energy particles penetrated the atmosphere, disrupted electronic equipment, paralyzed civilization, destroyed biological DNA, and triggered a sudden increase in mutation rates. This activates some gene expression pathways that are otherwise dormant or appear only briefly in the embryo. Under strong environmental pressure, human beings entered a forced evolution. Some people died, some "mutated" into people with superpowers, and some remained approximately the same but had changed at the genetic level.
