In fact, using parentheses to explain can greatly affect the perception, interrupt the flow of reading, and show double distrust - the author is not confident in his ability to express, and he does not trust the reader's understanding. Some explanatory content may be something the author wants to express but readers are not interested in understanding, so deleting it will have no impact. The author really wants to point out that you can start a separate paragraph, or use dashes and double quotes. Either way is better than using parentheses.
