A Top-Tier Star at a Taoist Temple? You Practiced Immortality All the Way to a Dating Show

Gu Qingyun, a registered Taoist priest at Qingyun Temple, is tricked by a shady production crew into joining a wilderness dating reality show. The crew wants to see him make a fool of himself, the other guests think he’s there to boost his profile, and the viewers accuse him of putting on an act. Gu Qingyun: Whatever. I’ll just slack off. While others drill wood to make fire until they collapse, he forms a hand seal, and Samadhi True Fire dances at his fingertips. While others fight over dinner, he sweeps his horsetail whisk, and spirit beasts from across the mountains bring him delicacies of their own accord. When a top-tier star knocks on his door late at night to discuss the “art of the bedchamber,” he hands her a copy of The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon without expression. “Good health depends on restraining your desires.” He only wanted to cultivate in peace, but the livestream exposes him, sending the entire internet into a frenzy: “Please start a class, Daoist Master! I’d gladly eat both meat and vegetables for the rest of my life in exchange for Brother Qingyun’s WeChat!” “Director, run! He isn’t here to find love. He’s here to save all living beings!”
