Tales of Northeast China: The Happy Life of Five Bachelors

In 1995, a letter that arrived ten years late changed Sha Zhu's life. Why had his mother left without saying goodbye? He wanted an answer.

But when he looked at the penniless household, he decided to make himself happy first and ask questions later.

A charming, handsome, and unreliable father with no shortage of romantic luck.

A quiet second brother who gets big things done.

A third kid who takes shamelessness to the extreme, and a fourth who looks down on everyone equally.

Sha Zhu smacked his lips. “This crew's a little hard to manage, but who am I? As long as you have thick enough skin, you're already 90% of the way to solving any problem.”

Beautiful looks are a dime a dozen, but an interesting soul is one in a million.

Behold: Sha Zhu's eventful life.
