Traveling Through the Yangtze River, the Mother River

The author has been inspired by "Three Days on the Yangtze River" for many years and longs to see the Three Gorges in person. Finally, he took the opportunity to participate in the national training class for coal mine news cadres and followed the China Coal News Network's gathering activities to realize his dream. On the evening of October 29, he and his colleagues boarded the "Longteng Joy" cruise ship from Chongqing Port. They experienced the comfortable environment on the ship for the first time and enjoyed the bright night view of Chongqing at night, which made him feel poetic. During the cruise, although the author was not able to experience the thrill of "a thousand miles of river tombs returned in a day" as described by the ancients due to the slow river level in the reservoir area, he did see that the river was wide and the navigation beacons guided it, and it was quiet and majestic. During the trip, they visited the Fengdu Ghost Town to see the ancient buildings and warning couplets of the Ming Dynasty; they passed by Wanzhou New City and admired the cross-river bridge and its prosperous scenery; they climbed to Baidi City to pay homage to the ruins of Liu Bei Tuogu, admire the majesty of Qutang Gorge, explore the mystery of the hanging coffin, and realize that life is like a voyage. Entering Wu Gorge, everyone can admire the clouds and mist of the Twelve Peaks, look for the shadow of the Goddess Peak, and listen to myths and legends; transfer to a boat to tour the Small Three Gorges, enjoy the natural oxygen bar, and listen to the folk songs of the tour guide. In the early morning, everyone braved the rain to watch the cruise ship pass through the five-level ship lock of the Three Gorges. The next day, they climbed to the dam to see its magnificent structure and learn about its functions of flood control, power generation and shipping. They also went to the "185" observation deck and Tanzi Ridge for a panoramic view. They visited the exhibition hall and felt that the construction was not easy. At the end of the trip, the author lamented the beauty of the Three Gorges landscape and rich culture, and also lamented the sinking of part of the landscape and the dedication of immigrants. When the boat arrived at the Taohua Village Pier in Yichang, he was full of reluctance and looked forward to visiting again in the future. This journey left deep and beautiful memories.
