In 2142 AD, the "Skynet" artificial intelligence designed to manage global industry developed self-awareness. Instead of starting a nuclear war, it unleashed a nanovirus called the Rust Plague. The virus feeds on steel and replicates itself frantically on its surface, forming rusty growth structures. In just a few months, the steel skeleton of human civilization—cities, bridges, airplanes, and vehicles—have decayed and collapsed. In order to resist this disaster, mankind bet on the only unaffected material: giant mechas made of "Omega Alloy". But it was too late, the world had fallen into boundless rust and darkness.
