The Face

A woman’s corpse leads the police to suspect her violent father and a gentle teacher.

A man’s corpse, however, points to the mother of detective Weng Cheng.

Just as the investigation grinds to a halt, something even more baffling happens: two women rush to turn themselves in, each claiming to be the real killer. One of them is the mother of Weng Cheng, the officer in charge of the case.

An overwhelming desire to control, a vigil of atonement, a silent sacrifice...

Two victims and two mysteries, yet both lead back to the most primal of human emotions: a mother’s love.

Only after Weng Cheng uncovers the truth does he realize that the choice before him was never simply one thing or the other.
