Dragon Protection Order: Part 4: Heroes of Sui and Tang Dynasties

The "Dragon Protection Order" series composes a thousand-year protection epic of China. Since the Yellow Emperor's decree, the Zhang family has been adhering to the mission of "protecting the dragon's veins, selecting virtuous kings, and peace of mind" from generation to generation. The seven parts span the long history: "The War between Qin and Han Dynasties" determines the unification of the tripod, "The Three Kingdoms" makes decisions in troubled times, "Five Hus" continues the bloodline, "Heroes of the Sui and Tang Dynasties" protects the prosperous times, "The Song and Yuan Dynasties" clashes civilizations, "The Ming and Qing dynasties" reincarnates, and "The War of Resistance" saves the nation. The dragon guards appear quietly at every historical turning point to guide the passing of Chinese civilization from generation to generation. "Order to Protect the Dragon: Heroes of the Sui and Tang Dynasties": The tyranny of the late Sui Dynasty caused the dragon's veins to shake again. Zhang Xutuo, the successor of the Dragon Guard Order, entrusted the mission to Zhang Gongjin before he died for his country. The latter assisted Li Yuan and his son to raise troops in Jinyang and witnessed the founding of the Tang Dynasty. However, protection in prosperous times is better than choosing a master in troubled times: during the Xuanwumen Incident, the dragon guards struggled to maintain the balance of the royal family; when Wu Zetian became emperor, he cleverly protected the continuation of civilization; in the prosperous times of Kaiyuan, he secretly guided the dynasty to avoid the wrong path. In the face of foreign invasions such as the Turks and Goguryeo, the Dragon Guards repeatedly performed extraordinary feats. In the prosperous age, undercurrents are surging, and the dragon guards need to use greater wisdom to protect this hard-won glory. Protecting the Chinese cultural heritage has never been a task that one person, one family, one surname or one dynasty can accomplish independently. It is the result of countless generations of Chinese people passing on the fire and working together.
