Instead, it opened a game page asking him to create a player account. “I became a player!?” Probation evaluations, instance anomalies, executive inspections, promotion competition, and one problem after another kept emerging at the company. A terrifying paper effigy subway entered the city, while evil entities disguised as humans circulated endlessly along a ghostly road that looped back on itself. An abandoned amusement park where blood-soaked plush toys ran rampant reopened, while man-eating evil entities used knives and forks to select their meals in a large shopping mall. The eerie instances were narrow escapes from death. After somehow gaining a player double, Zhang Anzai began a two-faced workplace life: clearing highly rated instances to earn promotions while using insider information to make instance exploration easier. At some unknown point, the era of monsters and bosses ravaging the instances had already reached its end. The Mirror World gradually became a harmonious nation, and even the Abyss instances were nearly conquered. Only a small number of bosses struggled on in their final moments, but they could not escape the fate of being killed and would ultimately cease to exist.
