I Was Supposed to Direct Web Dramas, So How Did I Win Three Major Awards?

Xu Chuan was reborn in 2014 as an intern at Souhu Video. After securing a three-million-yuan investment from Zhang Chaoyang, he began his directing career with online dramas!

“A pile of rags, a bunch of rookie actors, and a leaky blower. This thing is doomed to flop!”

“‘The Eternal Love’ brought Souhu Video two million new subscribers!”

“Spending sixty million to make a nine-episode online drama? You know whether you pocketed any of that money!”

“‘Stranger Things’ has become one of the most-watched series in streaming history.”

“Palace-intrigue dramas are a dime a dozen. What new spin could you possibly bring to the genre?”

“‘Story of Yanxi Palace’ has brought Souhu Video back into the top tier of streaming platforms!”

Everyone said online dramas were Xu Chuan’s comfort zone and challenged him to try making a movie. So he leapt into the arms of the film industry.

Wait, who put these three major film awards in my hands?
