Reading these chapters of "Little Son" is full of heartache. Sun Xishun was bullied at school and beaten and scolded by his father when he returned home. The little boy showed his helplessness. The writing is exquisite, unfolding the sufferings of childhood and the complexity of family relationships. It is full of the reality and helplessness of life. It is easy to sympathize with when reading, but the aftertaste is heavy. I look forward to Sun Xishun slowly moving towards his own life trajectory, and I am very curious as to how the author will write the story of his struggle and transformation in pain and life...
