Trenches, Guns, and Magic

You can post a large picture in the comment area, so I will post it here~ This is actually when the author played "Victoria 3" and the tightrope 'Pax Royale' MOD, he played two extremely abstract situations and then stitched them together... In order to make Dade and Spain border, the author directly used his 'divine power' to squeeze a piece of land from the Mediterranean Sea. As for the places that cannot be seen outside the map, more than 90% of the territory of North America, Central Africa, and South Africa are colonies of the British in other worlds. This is also the confidence of the British to "single-handedly suppress" the European continent. As for this Saxony, just say that God is not holy, emperor is not empire, and Rome is not Roman~

Let's briefly sort out the timeline On August 7th, the Morin Division set out in the afternoon Arrived outside the city at 9 a. M. On August 8th and exchanged fire On the evening of August 8th, the French Fifth Episode Headquarters learned the news In the morning of August 9th, the French 3rd Cavalry Division arrived outside the city and learned that there was only the 1st Guards Cavalry. Division reinforcements The French 9th Infantry Division arrived on the morning of August 10. The Ludendorff Group exchanged fire with the infantry of the 5th French Infantry Division 10 kilometers outside the Namur Fortress Group The 1st Guards Cavalry Division arrived on the morning of August 11 The 11th French Infantry Division was expected to arrive on the afternoon of August 11 Da According to the author's settings, it is known that Charleroi to Liège is more than 90 kilometers and Ilsson to Charleroi is more than 50 kilometers (55) kilometers I used deepseek combined with the map to find that the driving distance from Liège to Charleroi is between 83 and 92 kilometers. There is basically no difference between miles (the straight-line distance given by DS is 55 kilometers, I am not sure if it is wrong); but the driving distance from Ilsson to Charleroi is 78 kilometers. Considering the difference between the World War I era and the level of modern infrastructure, the author's figure of more than 50 kilometers is quite different. But it is a novel after all, so the data given by the author still prevails. Then, because the author did not give the distances from the Namur Fortress Group to Charleroi and to Liège, I calculated based on the 30-37 kilometers and 59-62 kilometers given by ds. And the distance from Dinant to Charleroi is also calculated based on the 52.7-53 Kilometers given by DS. Let's start with the problems I feel. There were basically no problems from August 7th to August 8th. The only thing that puzzled me was that the response of the French Fifth Assembly Command was too fast, which was not in line with my understanding of France's protracted bureaucracy. On August 9th, the humorous plot came. Bülow asked more than 60,000 people of the Ludendorff Battle Group to defend the 35,000 people of the 5th Infantry Division😅. Charleroi, the fulcrum of the battle, should be defended by a battalion, right? Okay, I'll bear with it, this is the combat level of our outstanding soldiers from the Saxon Empire👍👍👍, 60,000 people defending 30,000 people is really mediocre. According to my opinion, at most half of Ludendorff's battle group is enough. If the attack fails even with a 1:1 headcount ratio, then I have to suspect that this is not Saxony but the Qing Dynasty. The most important thing Ludendorff Battle Group should do on August 9 is to expand the breakthrough point in Charleroi, arrive in Charleroi before France 5 has fully reacted, and turn Charleroi into a forward base. After that, whether it is to annihilate the vanguard of the French Third Army and continue to break through or to hold on, it is better than risking the loss of Charleroi and moving the entire battle group to Namur. On August 10th, there is nothing much to say about the main plot. But your Ludendorff battle group had a firefight in the morning, and the 2:1 headcount ratio wouldn't mean the fight wasn't over in the afternoon, right? It's a field battle, not a positional battle. And isn't it only 20-30 kilometers from 10 kilometers outside Namur to Charleroi? Calculated at 30 kilometers, if Battle Group Ludendorff really wanted to support, it would have arrived by the morning of the 11th at the latest. Furthermore, of the more than 5,000 trucks in the entire right-wing army group, you can always get 1,000 in the second episode, right? Can't the Ludendorff battle group form a temporary commando team? Britain has mages and knights, France has bulletproof cuirassiers, and apart from airships, can Saxony not be regarded as a leader in industry and mechanization? Now it seems that Saxony is really nothing special. On the morning of August 11, the First Guards Cavalry Division finally arrived. Compared with the speed of the French Third Cavalry Division, I can only say that the training is indeed insufficient. The distance between Dinan and Irsun to Shahroa is not much different . In any case, it is unjustifiable to delay the arrival of support on August 9th until the 11th, especially when compared with the French 3rd Cavalry Division. I really don't want to watch the next plot, so I'll wait until it's over. It's nothing more than the Guards Cavalry Division sending away the half-disabled French 5th Infantry Division, and then being defeated by the French 11th Infantry Division, and then Morin turned the tide or something else. No matter how the author conceives the subsequent plot, the French Third Army has already pressed forward. I think that being able to defend Shahroa under such circumstances is purely mechanical. In addition, in terms of politics, it is purely funny, using the training camp as a death squad, right? Chang Kaishen has never done anything to throw the teaching brigade into the ground. Even if the political significance is not mentioned, everyone within the Saxon army knows that this is to teach "assault battalions" and is the innovative seed of assault warfare, not to teach engineer battalions. Taking the training camp and throwing it into urban combat is really... The humor is over. I think everyone should know the meaning of "teaching camp". From a military perspective, the training camp should not be half-abandoned. From a political perspective, in an empire like Saxony, the training camp directly under the crown prince should not be treated like this. To sum up, if Molin has never slept with Biro's wife or daughter, then I can only think: 1. Saxony, as the continent's largest army power, has a lot of water, and its senior generals lack basic knowledge of battle laws. 2. The author used excessive force in highlighting the training camp, making the entire second episode look stupid 3. Bülow and Ludendorff were too greedy and had no basic political common sense

Are you humans and machines? You are all praising me, but no one is replying to me. After reading more than a dozen chapters, I have no idea what the protagonist wants to do, and I have been collecting information without explaining it clearly. Is it like this later?

After seeing the 8-level spell and the 10-minute invincible defensive spell in more than 300 chapters, I couldn't stand it anymore. The previous writing was a bit boring, but I could barely read it, but these two episodes are direct: no need to play, magicians have been around since ancient times. Just based on this thing, I can't figure out how Germany and France can resist the British invasion. 100% Lose, it is said that Germany has recently risen to develop industry and magic, while Britain has relied on mages to rise for at least a hundred years. Before this, I never thought why Britain did not fight Germany and France. Instead of sending out a few mages, they won directly with an eight-level spell. The British magic army is much more than that of Germany and France combined. What do you think? Why is it unrealistic? Secondly, the protagonist is becoming more and more like Superman. We don't write about large-scale wars. We don't write about battles between soldiers. We don't write about how the enemy directs the attack. We don't write about how we counterattack. We only write about the protagonist who always carries a small number of soldiers with him to transform into Superman and charge. You seem to have some serious illness, and Britain has also become a fool. Assassinating the protagonist is not easy. The protagonist is protected by spells from head to toe. It is like a ray of light in the dark. It is very conspicuous. Just find a great magician and cast a spell in seconds, and it will be over. To retreat, use any door or dimensional door. Although there is a one-minute delay before it can be used, what kind of force field do we have that makes you invincible for 10 minutes? One minute is only one tenth of the chicken feather.

In fact, one thing I really can't understand is that the male protagonist is a middle-aged man who has gone through military training. Why does he have to fight for them so hard in Germany 1? When I saw the street fighting led by the male protagonist, I didn't feel at all happy.
