In 1935, the old library of a university in the Far East was closed due to the "Book of Silence" incident. This wordless book with memory as its ink attracted "whisperers" who feed on forgetfulness. After ten years, the library restarts on a rainy night. Chen Mo, Su Wan, Zhao Ye and other players are pulled into the moving maze. The time is fixed at 23:59 midnight that year. Players need to survive among the bookshelves that move every 30 minutes, and the "backtalker" becomes stronger with memory loss. Lin Yuzhou, who is half human and half book, guides everyone with 12 loops of memory, but is limited by the rules; the first curator secretly manipulates clues by playing backward broadcasts. There is still a secret connection in reality. Lin Yuzhou disappears and the cycle is finally broken. The hidden ending is that if everyone rejects the selection, they will become "house spirits" and become new books on the bookshelf.
