The Immortal Clan from the Fables

After arriving in the Spring and Autumn period, Su Mu wants only to keep his family well fed, safe, and untouched by war. Then one day, his father pulls up the rice seedlings to make them grow faster; His sixth younger brother takes a frog from the bottom of a well as his master, gazes at the sky from inside the well, draws boundaries around himself, and delights in his own little world; His seventh younger sister’s best friend imitates Dongshi, then overdoes it and scares the guests; Lord Ye, who loves dragons, comes to their door demanding answers because the “dragon” that asked him for a title seems to have something to do with the Su family; A gang of thieves steals the large bell hanging outside the home of a young nephew in the neighboring village, covering their ears as they do it; A band of thieves trying to imitate the Su family’s rise to prominence ends in failure because one of them is a mere pretender, leaving mistakes everywhere and ruining the whole plan; Taking the wrong road, buying a case and returning the pearl, marking a boat to find a lost sword, drawing cakes to stave off hunger… The familiar fables of old play out one after another around the Su family. And so the mysterious veil over the Spring and Autumn period is lifted. Years later, after reading through the family annals, Su Mu sighs and sums it all up: “The history of the Su family is half a history of fables.” P.S. Family cultivation, slow-paced, an ensemble cast, and a warm, cheerful everyday life.
