The Biography of Bian Que: the Eternal Way of Medicine

During the Warring States Period, in the mulberry fields of the Bohai Sea, a young Qinyue man came across an old man who had fainted in the field, and hurriedly rescued and helped. After waking up, the old man smiled and said: "My elder Mr. Sang has been practicing medicine in seclusion. Are you willing to study medicine with me?" The young man never thought that this rescue would open the door to medicine. From then on, he carried a basket of medicine on his back and traveled around the country with his teacher. He diagnosed diseases by looking at colors and diagnosing diseases by listening to sounds. He created the four diagnostic methods of "looking, smelling, asking and feeling". He used acupuncture to wake up Zhao Jianzi who had been comatose for five days in Zhao State. He opposed witchcraft, established the principle of "six incurable diseases", separated medicine from the theory of ghosts and gods, and raised the banner of scientific diagnosis and treatment in troubled times. King Wu of Qin asked for a cure for his waist disease. He used massage decoction to eradicate the stubborn disease, but the imperial doctor was jealous and plotted against him. Before his death, he passed on to his disciples the essence of medical knowledge of "seeing the slightest signs and treating the disease before it's too late", leaving behind the sigh of "the disease has penetrated into the bone marrow, and I have no choice but to take care of my life". Thousands of years later, the fragments of the "Bian Que Nei Jing" in the Mawangdui Han Tomb confirm his wisdom, and his figure walking out of the mulberry field has long been transformed into the soul of traditional Chinese medicine in syndrome differentiation and treatment, making doctors as kind as mulberry trees, living endlessly in the land of China, and protecting them for thousands of years.
