Tales of the Strange: A Chang’an Diviner’s Investigations

In the third year of Longshuo, strange cases began appearing throughout Chang’an, the capital of the Great Tang. At the same time, Li Muhuan, the long-vanished leader of the martial world’s most powerful gang, the Qinglian Sect, reappeared and sent out invitations to all the martial arts sects, summoning them to Chang’an. But the real Li Muhuan had taken on a new identity as Li Qiuhan, an astrologer in the Taibu Bureau known as the Five-Official Yama, specializing in catching ghosts and subduing demons. Acting on orders, he joined Changsun Changfeng, a judicial aide in Yongzhou, to investigate the cases while secretly tracing the origins of the Qinglian invitations. As their investigation deepened, they gradually uncovered a shocking conspiracy powerful enough to topple the entire imperial court.
