Liu Da Shack

"The Story of Liu Da Shack" tells the story of the changes in the modernization process of Liu Da Shack, a small village in Northeast China. The story begins in the village's Tang's Delicatessen Shop. Tang Jin is famous in the village for his ancestral craftsmanship, but he insists on tradition and is unwilling to expand his business. With the construction of a large coal-fired power plant in the north of the village by Datang Group in 2014, the village has undergone tremendous changes. During the construction of the power plant, the arrival of foreign construction teams brought economic vitality to the village, and the villagers earned income by renting out houses and selling goods. However, as the power plant was completed and the construction team evacuated, the village gradually returned to peace. The lives of the villagers have changed. Some have moved to the city, while others have stayed in the village. Through the changes in the village, the story shows the impact of modernization on traditional rural life, as well as people's choices and adaptations in the tide of the times.
