As Promised, Etiquette

In 2001, amid a volatile and precarious international situation, Lu Fan was reborn as a top student at Harbin Institute of Technology. His talent for spinning stories caught the attention of the Bureau Chief, who brought him into the Strategic Deception Bureau to handle its public relations work… and he was lucky enough to activate a System.

System: I’ll give you a golden finger that lets you improve your professional skills by reading. You can become an outstanding academician serving a great power!

Lu Fan: Will binding to this let us surpass America?

System: No.

Lu Fan: I want to lie back and watch the East surpass America.

System: There is a way, but you won’t want it!

Lu Fan: I’ll bind to it, no matter how hard it gets.

System: Then I’ll give you the Nation of Courtesy System, which wins people over through virtue. As long as you show the bearing of a nation of courtesy, you’ll obtain all kinds of cutting-edge technology and can naturally surpass America. Just don’t expose me if anything happens later.

Only later did Lu Fan realize that the Nation of Courtesy System was also known as the [Truth System], or, more briefly, the “Hawkish System.”

“Gaddafi claims the five permanent members are all terrorist organizations? Honestly, being a terrorist organization isn’t so bad! Hm? Old Gaddafi, why are you wetting yourself?”

“You say our solar power will destroy your forests? That’s an excellent suggestion. Hm? Old Han, what are you panicking about?”

“If we can’t join the WTO, then there’s no need for the WTO member states to exist. Hm? Old America, why are you afraid of my strategic deception campaign?”

Also known as: “I Really Am Just a Conservative. I Just Think the Hawks Aren’t Aggressive Enough!”
