Starting with Zhong Kui, I Sweep Across the Divine World

He transmigrates into a world where people worship gods.

Here, gods are everywhere, and evil spirits run rampant.

Yang Hao, the top graduate of a Taoist academy, arrives with the True Spirit Register of Divine Offices. When he sees the three-zhang-tall God of Guyang, covered in green fur and resembling a rakshasa, he immediately calls out:

“Your disciple Yang Hao respectfully invites the Emperor Lord of Blessed Protection, Thunder, Demon-Driving, Evil-Averting, House-Guarding, and Fortune-Bestowing.”

At Yang Hao’s invocation, Zhong Kui descends into the world, and the evil spirits are put to death.

“Since you don’t know how to be gods,

then I, your young Taoist master, will sweep through your ranks and show you what a true god is!”

Zhong Kui devours ghosts, Lord Guan Sheng subdues demons, True Lord Erlang slays monsters...

This is a story about teaching the gods of another world how to be gods.

“Back to buy paper offerings for the gods, young man? You’re still young, so burn plenty. The gods are sure to take a liking to you.”

“Right, if I burn enough, the gods will surely favor me.”

“Young man, what’s the name of the god you’re burning offerings for?”

“Yang Hao.”

“Yang Hao? I’ve never heard of a god by that name.”

“Listen, young man. Don’t let anyone fool you. Don’t burn offerings for some wild god or evil god. You’ll only bring trouble on yourself.”

“He’s neither a wild god nor an evil god.”

“How can you be so sure? Don’t let anyone trick you.”

“Because my name is Yang Hao.”

(The blurb doesn’t do it justice. This is a completely new system of god worship. I hope you’ll read it before deciding whether to drop it.)
