Biting the Lychee

[Rekindled Love + Reunion After Years Apart + Mutual Devotion + Healing] On a rainy night, after years apart, the two reunited during a train derailment. Tang Li, a journalist, was trapped inside the train when Zhou Tingyue appeared in her field of vision, tall and straight in his firefighting uniform. The moment their eyes met, Tang Li turned away, cold and indifferent, but she still felt his gaze on her back. -- Seven years ago, to turn down a senior's confession, Tang Li casually made up an excuse, saying she liked Zhou Tingyue, the most outstanding boy in her class. She bet her friends she could win him over. She flirted with him openly and in secret, and they dated for two years. At their post-graduation dinner after senior year, she smiled without warmth and told her friends, “I was just playing with him.” On the rainy night Tang Li disappeared, Zhou Tingyue searched for her in the rain all night, desperate for an answer. What he found instead was a coldness that cut to the bone. -- On a rainy night after they reunited, Zhou Tingyue stood outside her home with an umbrella. His eyes held a pleading look, and his voice trembled. “Little Lychee, I took care of the people who bullied you.” Tang Li was stunned. She had thought that matter could never be put behind them. Zhou Tingyue gripped her slender waist and slowly tightened his hold. “Will you play with me one more time?” Tang Li cursed him through her tears. “You jerk.” “Then does that make you the jerk's wife?”
