The Tracks of Time

The Trajectory Reversed tells the story of Chu Xiaoyi, an ordinary man who loses his way in life and then finds himself again. As a young man, Chu Xiaoyi entered the workforce with dreams and ideals, but gradually lost his way amid endless work and the pressures of daily life. While searching for a sense of self-worth, he stumbled into the world of racing pigeons and became obsessed with betting on them, hoping this would change his life. Instead, his addiction drained the family’s savings and drove his marriage into crisis.

His wife was passionate about dancing, while Chu Xiaoyi felt she paid too little attention to their family. His insecurity and jealousy led him to seek an outlet in an affair. His infidelity shattered the family completely, costing him his wife, his child, and the stable life he once had. Faced with a broken marriage and financial ruin, Chu Xiaoyi sank into deep confusion and remorse.

At the lowest point in his life, Chu Xiaoyi began to study in earnest. He reconsidered his life, recognized the mistakes he had made, and gradually rediscovered his inner peace and strength. Through sincere repentance and efforts to mend his relationship with his wife, he slowly restored harmony to his family. He got back on track, no longer chasing illusory dreams, and instead cherishing the responsibilities and love he had in the real world.

Through Chu Xiaoyi’s story, the novel explores how people today can balance material pursuits with inner emptiness, and how they can find faith and redemption after losing their way. This is a story of self-reflection, remorse, and growth, following a man who strays from the right path and finds his way back. It reveals life’s deepest meaning in the space between breaking apart and rebuilding.
