After My Roommate Set the Dorm Building on Fire by Cooking in Her Room

My roommate, Xia Jiang, was always cooking with high-wattage appliances in our dorm. I kindly warned him that it was a serious fire hazard and that if the school found out, he could be disciplined. But he accused me of sticking my nose where it didn’t belong. That very day, his rice cooker caught fire and killed the rich young master who shared our room. When the school investigated, Xia Jiang and our other roommate pinned all the blame on me. I was expelled, subjected to online abuse, and targeted for revenge by the rich young master’s girlfriend. My whole family was shoved alive into a crematorium furnace. When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the day Xia Jiang cooked with his battered old rice cooker.
