Every Deskmate Avoids Me

Lately, my deskmate had been acting strangely around me. Whether we were going to the cafeteria or heading to PE, she always kept her distance. At last, I couldn't take it anymore and grabbed her to ask, “Did I do something to offend you?” She flinched and backed away several steps, putting more distance between us. Avoiding my eyes, she said, “No, it's not you!” Yet she immediately volunteered to transfer from our honors class to a regular one. Confused, I went to ask her about it. The moment I appeared at the door of her new classroom, my deskmate, who had been chatting leisurely with someone, suddenly started shaking all over and screamed in terror, “It really isn't your fault! Please stop coming after me, I beg you!”
