No One Wants to Sit Beside Me

Lately, my deskmate has been looking at me strangely. Whether we’re eating in the cafeteria or having PE, she keeps her distance. At last, I couldn’t take it anymore and grabbed her to ask, “Did I do something to offend you?” She jumped and took several steps back, putting more distance between us as her eyes darted around. “No, it’s not you!” But then she voluntarily transferred from the honors class to a regular one. Confused, I went to ask her about it. The moment I appeared at the door of her new classroom, my deskmate, who’d been chatting and relaxing with the others, suddenly started shaking all over and screamed in terror, “It really isn’t your fault! Please don’t come looking for me, please!”
