This story takes place five hundred years after the journey west ended. Whether the Great Sage Equal to Heaven or the Victorious Fighting Buddha, he has become nothing more than a legend. People bring him up in passing when they chat. Many know he existed, but no one has seen him since, and no one has heard any new stories about him.
